Octopus C Aegean 9 - Stainless

Aegean is a key with its own distinctive character. It is like a Nordlys constructed from the lydian scale. Lydian is related to major, which is known for its cheerful character. 

The difference between major and lydian is that lydian has a more dreamy and magical character. This addition of dreamy tones makes it a colourful scale, which is very imaginative.  

Aegean is a vote that starts lower than usual. Usually, after the thing (the central middle) made a five-note jump to the next tone. At Aegean this is a jump of only three notes. This means that there are above-average bass notes to be found within this tuning. It adds to the warm character this tuning has.

To enable this low start, some other notes are skipped in the tone sequence. The major second and major sixth are skipped. Skipping these notes also makes it a little easier to find beautiful and harmonious harmonies. This makes Aegean a tuning that is easily intuitive and free to play!

Stainless steel
Stainless steel is characterised by medium to above-average reverberation, and a nice clear sound. The mid-high fresh sound is something that comes out clearly with the sound of stainless steel. It has a bit less (top) high and a bit less low than Ember Steel, but moves a bit more into the (high) middle.

This makes stainless steel a fine and fresh sound, which today forms a nice middle ground within all the different sounds in terms of materials. It has slightly less reverb than Ember Steel, but clearly more reverb than nitrided steel.
