Handpan rental

It’s only once you’ve had a handpan at home for a few weeks that you’ll know whether it’s the right instrument for you. That’s why you can rent a handpan from us first to see if it’s right for you.

 

With your hire handpan, you’ll receive:

  • Five weeks’ playing time
  • A set of online tutorial videos to help you get off to a good start straight away
  • A bag for safely transporting your handpan
  • Personalised advice on which handpan is right for you

We recommend that beginners take a workshop at our shop first. In just a few hours, you’ll learn the basics, after which you’ll get more out of your five weeks’ hire.

 

If, after renting, you decide to buy a handpan costing 1,000 euros or more, the full rental fee will be deducted from the purchase price. This means you only pay for the instrument you take home.

    • When to rent a handpan?

    • You’re not sure whether this instrument is right for you. A handpan sounds different in the shop than it does in your own living room, and after five weeks you’ll know whether you’ll really keep reaching for it.
    • You’re torn between two keys or types of metal. You’ll notice the difference more clearly whilst playing than by watching ten videos in a row.
    • You’ve already got one and you want a second one. Even experienced players hire from us to find out which scale complements their first handpan.
    • You’d like to take him out somewhere sometime. Fancy playing together at a festival, a gig or a weekend away? Then hiring a handpan is the perfect solution.

    If you’d like to find out whether the handpan is the right instrument for you, we offer handpan hire combined with a few lessons. You can choose between in-person or online lessons, as well as video lesson packages with an accompanying e-book.

    Choose the lesson that suits you best. All three can be combined with your hire handpan.

    Class in our shop
    At our teaching venue in Driebergen-Rijsenburg, you’ll receive one-to-one lessons from an experienced handpan player. You’ll learn the basics at your own pace, so you can get started straight away at home with your hire handpan. A lesson costs €60 for 60 minutes and €75 for 90 minutes.

    Online Basics Course
    Thirty instructional videos that you can watch whenever it suits you and repeat as often as you like. You’ll learn:

    • how to get a beautiful, full-bodied sound from the handpan
    • which hand and which finger to use for what
    • how to play with tempo and bring more flow to your playing
    • how to play a song and write your own
    • how to improvise and learn to play by feel

    The course costs €150. If you hire a handpan, you’ll get a 10% discount on it.

    Would you like to continue after that? There are three further courses, up to and including advanced level.
