What is a Handpan Retuning?
In normal use, one or more tone fields may shift slightly. We call this a standard retuning.
The maker rebalances the relevant tonal fields so that the instrument sounds clear, pure and resonant again.
Never try to retune a handpan yourself. This can make the damage worse and even irreparable.
How does the Retuning process work?
- You bring the handpan by in our shop.
- Provide the handpan with a label and a sticker on the bottom with your name, e-mail address and phone number.
- State clearly what you are experiencing.
- We check the handpan in the shop.
Once every three to four weeks, we visit the builders. This is when we bring out new retunings and collect the ready instruments.
What does a Handpan Retuning cost?
For handpans bought from us, a standard retuning averages €175,-.
We first assess handpans not purchased from us. If it is a high-quality instrument, we can usually retune it.
In case of warranty, there is no cost for retuning.
How long does this process take?
Several weeks on average. This depends on the time of submission within our three- to four-weekly round.
Express delivery is possible by arrangement. In that case, we can send the handpan ahead in a special shipping box.
Is there a loaner handpan available?
Yes. For a small fee, you can temporarily get a standard scale handpan.
In case of warranty, a loan instrument is possible at no extra cost.
Can the Handpan be Sent?
Yes. We have special shipping boxes with which the handpan is shipped safely and insured.
