Handpan repair applies when damage has been done to the handpan
Repair is needed when greater stresses or structural damage have occurred in the instrument.
For example, when:
- The handpan has fallen on its side
- Something heavy has fallen onto it
- If distortion is visible
In some cases, the handpan needs to be completely opened, reshaped, tuned, glued, and retuned. This is an intensive and costly process.
What is the difference between repair and retuning?
A standard retuning corrects minor shifts from normal use.
When repairing, there is structural damage or a change in stress in the steel. Often a complete re-tuning is also required afterwards.
How does the repair process work?
- You bring the handpan along with the label and contact details.
- We are assessing the damage in the shop.
- The handpan will be taken on our periodic trip to the builder.
- Following repairs, we will collect the instrument.
Express delivery is possible in consultation, including sending in advance in a special box.
What does a handpan repair cost?
The costs depend on the nature of the damage. Because the process is more intensive than a standard retuning, the costs are typically higher.
Upon review, we can provide a specific indication.
We repair all Handpans.
We can also repair or retune handpans that were not purchased from us, in many cases, provided they are of suitable quality.
We regularly see instruments of inferior quality that are barely built correctly. In such cases, repair is not always justifiable.
Can the handpan be sent after repair?
Yes. We have special, secure shipping boxes. Shipping is insured and costs approximately €17,50 including the box.
